Your Ultimate Beach Skin & Body Countdown Routine

Want to get holiday-ready in just four week? Here is your ultimate body and skincare routine to be in the best shape and look of your life, just in time for your holidays.


4 weeks to go

Diet and weight loss: Depending on where you are with your fitness, about a month before vacay is a good time to up your diet and exercise game. Dont and I mean don't start a 'fad' diet to fit into your bikini. It will really take a big toll on your skin and looks and you will lose that healthy glow. Instead, Set a diet plan that works for you (I am currently following the Keto diet - Low carb/high fat/moderate protein) and kick start it right away. To support weight loss or toning up, make sure you are hitting the gym. Aim for 3-4 days of exercise, split between; 1-2 days cardio and 3 days strength training (Sweat app by Kayla Itsines is a good place to start) to make sure you are making the most out of the days left.

Inside-out beauty: Adding supplements to your daily routine is a great way to support your overall health and beauty regimen. Aim to take a multivitamin to support your overall health. You can also start adding a supplement such as Collagen powder for ski, hair and nails strength. In addition, swapping your latte for a smoothie with matcha powder will help reduce bloating and support digestion.


Facials: To start on good canavas, I suggest you book one professional facial now. This will kick start your skin care process soonest. Afterwards, aim to use a gentle scrub 2-3 times a week before bed, followed by a deep pore cleansing mask (I love this one from Kiehl's) followed by a deep hydrating mask or oil to lock down moisters (I use Rosehip oil every night before bed).

3 weeks to go

Body treatments: Starting your body treatments 3 weeks ahead of your holiday is perfect for securing maximum results. Aim to exfoliate your skin 2-3 a week followed by deep hydration. In addition to home skin care, you can also aim to get at least once 1-2 professional treatments ahead of your holiday. Check your local spa for a Moroccan or Turkish Hammam or any other cool treatments that focus on skin radiation and detoxifying.

Hydration: To ensure proper skin hydration for that gorgeous glow, make sure you drink 1.5-2 liters of water everyday. As for external hydration, I am recently loving Josie Maran's Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter as not only does it smell amazing but it's the first body lotion I use that leaves my skin truly hydrated without any greasiness. Aim to use it everyday after your shower especially when you scrub. I would also look into the products Im using in the shower and see if its supporting my skin goals. For ex, I use a shower oil instead of a shower gel to ensure maximum hydration.

Firm and tone: Your diet and exercise results should be starting to kick in by now and you can give it an extra boost through using a firming and anti-cellulite cream. You can switch your body lotion to be one for toning or you can use it in addition. Want an extra tip? Use the sauna for 5-10 mins before your shower to get rid for the extra water for a visibly better-looking body.


Hair health: While getting a new hair cut before holiday is not the best idea, getting it trimmed is perfect to ensure healthier looking hair. Get your locks trimmed 3 weeks before your holiday and while you are at it, follow it with a deep hydration treatment. 

2 weeks to go

Tanning time: In order for your skin to look its best from the first holiday moment, achieve that golden looking skin by either getting 1-2 sessions ahead of your holiday in the sun or using a self-tanning cream. You can use a gradual self tanning cream before bed. 

Start to gradually destress: Working round the clock to get everything done before your holiday? It can def take a toll on your skin and overall health. So take your time every evening to do 10-15 mins of yoga or even some stretching, followed by a cup of warm decaf tea.

Hair gloss: Nothing looks better on the beach than a glossy healthy looking hair and so right about now you should start a hair hydration routine. Aim for a deep hydrating mask twice a week (I love Shea Moister's Shea Butter's deep mask). You can even book a treatment or two with a salon if you like.

Laser works: Whether you are aiming for a microblading session or hair removal, right about now is when you need to get it done. Book your sessions ahead of time to avoid last minute scheduling issues and to ensure a long recovery time before your holiday.

One week to go (Yay!)

Waxing: If you are more of a wax girl, this is when you should get your waxing booked and done. Do it a max 2-3 days before you leave to ensure you stay hair free for as long as possible. 

Eyebrows: Get your eyebrows shaped and tinted around the same time of your waxing so it remains as perfect as possible all month. In addition, get it tinted for all that fuller natural look. Take with you some extra 'enhancers' as well, such as Benefit's Gimme Brow Mascara. 

The final beauty touches: On the eve of your holiday, get your mani and pedi booked. Get a nice buff and hydrating treatment if possible to get those hands and feet as soft as possible. Also, if you want some beauty enhancing fix, get some eye lashes extension. This together with your eyebrow tinting should give you a naturally beautiful makeup-less look.
