Argan Oil

Why is it good for me?

I am a loyal follower of the "Liquid Gold" ever since I first used it 2 years ago.
Extracted from the kernels of the argan tree in Morocco, Argan Oil is extremely rich in nutrients including vitamin E. It is great for your hair, skin and nails. No wonder it is very popular with many celebrities.

How do I use it?

  • Facial Moisturizer & Anti-aging serum: After cleansing morning and/or night, massage a few drops directly onto your face and neck.
  • Leave-on Conditioner: After the shower, and while your hair is still wet, add a few drops of to your hair ends and scalp.
  • Cuticle and Heel Softener: Massage a few drops into your cuticles to soften, moisturize and encourage nail growth. Use as an overnight treatment to nourish cracked heels by working a good amount into your feet and toes.

Mayonnaise & Vanilla

Why is it good for me?

The ever-so-glowing Blake Lively learned this hair conditioner alternative trick from her mother. I personally tried this one first when I was 17 years old and I remember I have experienced a unique shine I have never seen before. Additionally, It’s cheap compared to other glossing treatments and it really is a miracle worker.

How do I use it?

Step 1: Apply a cup of mayonnaise mixed with a teaspoon of vanilla extract (to cut the mayonnaise scent) to dry, unwashed hair.
Step 2: Cover your head with a warm towel to help the mayonnaise penetrate, and leave it on for 20 minutes.
Step 3: Before you step into the shower, apply a heaping handful of shampoo to your hair. Don't add any water yet; just massage it in thoroughly for several minutes. That will help break down the excess oil.
Step 4: Rinse with cool water in the shower and your hair will come out shiny and silky.

Apple cider vinegar

Why is it good for me?

Scarlette Johansson swears by this one. This under-used ingredient helps us prevent acne, doubles up as hair shampoo, speed up the healing time for bruises as well as cleanse and tone your face.

How do I use it?

Facial Cleanser/Toner: Mix together one tablespoon with two cups of water. Moisten a cotton ball, and swipe the mixture over a clean, dry face to tighten skin. Apple cider vinegar's natural alpha-hydroxy acids and acetic acid will stimulate circulation, as well as minimize pores.

Dandruff Treatment & Shampoo: Mix together a solution of equal parts apple cider vinegar and water. Massage into your scalp before shampooing. You can also mix one teaspoon apple cider vinegar into your regular shampoo and use to wash hair, massaging and concentrating on your scalp.

Bruise Healer: Soak a cotton ball or pad with undiluted apple cider vinegar, and secure it with a bandage. Leave on for one hour. For especially bad bruises, follow with arnica gel or cream.

Coconut oil

Why is it good for me?

Beside the fact that Coconut oil smells GREAT, it happens to be highly beneficial due to its super moisturizing abilities and its anti-fungal and antibacterial ingredients. It makes a superb alternative to many chemicals-filled shaving cremes, moisturizers and deodorants!

How do I use it?

Shaving creme: Always Shave at the end of your bath or shower. Rub a small amount of coconut oil on your legs. If your coconut oil is solid, simply warm it up between your palms before applying to the skin. Finally, shave using a sharp razor, rinse and add more coconut oil as a moisturizer. Hello sexy legs!

Deodorant: Simply rub a small amount on your arm pits after your morning shower and before bed at night.

Seasalt

Why is it good for me?

Sea salt contains a variety of minerals and nutrients that benefit our bodies and particularly our skin. It can transform an otherwise ordinary shower into a powerful detox which nourishes and invigorates.

How do I use it?

Body scrub: Mix a 2 to 1 ratio of olive/almond oil and sea salt to make a quick and effective body scrub. This helps get rid of dead skin cells creating softer, more glowing skin.

Last but not least…

Sleep well, eat a balanced diet and try to manage stress as often as you can. Those are the most important “natural” beauty enhancements to shine from the inside-out :-) #behappy
